WW 217: How To Find Your Ideal Clients - Solo Show

For this week’s episode we’re talking about something that is a problem I hear over and over again from the money coaches I talk to on a daily basis, and that is that they’re really struggling to find their ideal clients. This is something I love to talk about (if you’re not new around here, you know!) and I love digging into the idea of niching down. We all do this where we understand the power of niching but we don’t do it because it’s uncomfortable and feels counterintuitive. Loving this episode? Take a screenshot and share it on Instagram! A Quick Recap from this episode

When you become a jack of all trades, you become a generalist, not a specialist. It dilutes your brand, your value, and confuses the people that you’re ultimately trying to find. It really is going to start with the niche.

Niching is vital to you being able to find your ideal clients.

Here’s the problem that I see with most coaches: they say they don’t know how to find their clients, but when I talk to them about who their client is I realize they feel scattered, lost, and confused because they’re everywhere and doing everything. That’s all fine, but does nothing if you don’t know how to find your clients.

So how do you find your clients? You start with your niche.

If you’re tempted to go bigger, go smaller. Be willing to go there and specify even further who they are. The trick to finding your clients is showing up where they’re hanging out.

We feel like we need to add more and be on more platforms and show up in more ways, so we need to do the opposite. How do you do the opposite and show up confidently? You find a unique and specific group of people and you identify where they hang out the most.

Your niche isn’t just “who" it’s also “what” and you need to scale down and dig into those. Then show up on that platform and be an expert there. You’re going to not only be a specialist in what you offer, but also specialize in that one platform.

It does so much for you. It simplifies your life, makes your business easier to run, and makes your content easier to create and publish, but it also allows you to understand how to even more optimize that one platform and get really good at it. And because mots of your clients are hanging out there, you’re going to get the most benefit out of it. That’s the first level of finding your ideal clients.

The next level is finding ways to infiltrate those communities.

Find where you know your clients are hanging out within the platform. Are they in certain groups or following certain pages and how can you show up in those places?

If you’re willing to dig into this type of niching and do the research into where your people are hanging out and how they identify themselves and get in communities within the platform, then you’ll be able to position yourself in front of them as the expert and engage them.
