You spent a decade climbing the ladder.

(or navigating that entrepreneurial roller coaster, if you’re a sadist like me)

And you feel like you finally have something to show for it... As far as your income is concerned.

Six Figures coming in the door and you can now call yourself a “real grown-up making real money”.

Only problem is… besides your income, you’re well aware that the rest of your financial picture isn’t as “put together” as you thought it would be by now.

you know you have some real growing up cleaning up to do, and you’re ready to make it happen.

Humor me for a second and see if you resonate with any of these scenarios:

  • You (possibly in combination with a partner) make a great paycheck, but you feel like your net worth should (or could) be higher, lifestyle inflation has crept up on you and you’re feeling a bit out-of-touch with your spending…

  • A quarter of six-figure earners are living paycheck-to-paycheck and you’re now realizing that you’re one of them… asking for help feels hard because there’s shame around making a high income but not having much to show for it.

  • You make a good living, and have a solid start to savings and retirement, but a (couple) unexpected expense(s) has you relying on credit cards to cover living costs and those savings gains have stalled, big time. You want out of the vicious credit cycle so you can get back to the good old days of compounding returns and credit card hacking.

  • You’ve got funds coming in and your savings habits aren’t bad, but you want to maximize all the employee benefits and tax advantages out there, but you also don’t want to feel broke on a day-to-day basis… you’re ready for total income optimization so you can save for the future while living for the present.

  • Perhaaaaps you’re self-employed (an independent contractor, consultant, therapist) and you’re earning a high dollar per hour rate, but maybe sort of just now realized you have taxes to consider and other “business finance” things that feel messy and hard to sort out on your own. And that accountant you hired is no help in that arena.

Any of the Above feel like I just explained your real life situation?

I have something for you then…

Obsessed with my Clients

Natalia, California

“Investing in Tess, and in turn, investing in myself both financially and mentally, was one of the best things I've ever done in my life. I can't recommend Tess more highly.”

  • Before Tess, I had anxiety about money almost always. I needed help with my debt. But after peeking under the covers and understanding everything Tess was capable of, it became apparent that Tess would help me with so much more nitty gritty money things that my other financial advisors weren’t willing to spend their time on. For example, Tess helped me figure out my company's ESPP, dissect each paycheck so it met my savings needs, and maximize my company's confusing benefits; our work together even gave me permission to move out of the apartment that I had lived in for 18 years. We organized some things and paid off the debt, and thanks to Tess' help, I moved to a much more comfortable, updated home that I felt safe in.

I tell her this all the time, but she changed my life. That's not hyperbole. She did - and continues to.

Tess is a friend whom I share my salary with, and it isn't weird.

Numbers-wise, I saw my net worth grow 28% over 31 months with Tess. I paid off my debt. Tess taught me how to understand my spending habits and cheered me on every step of the way. It was financial therapy at its finest and hardest.

But the qualitative upside was the most profound for me.

The enormous relief I have that Tess is helping me track every detail of my financial picture is priceless.

It is an absolute no-brainer to work with Tess. But you must trust in the process and be willing to learn. It's simple: work with Tess, and you'll no longer be a money mess.

Tabitha, NEvada

“Tess has completely changed my life and she’s actually changed my sleeping patterns because I’m now sleeping at night instead of worrying about money.”

  • I’m a CPA, I have a side-hustle as a Shamanic Energy Practitioner, and I’m a very good natural spender (I’ve had credit card debt since I was 16…and that was a long time ago).

So with those things together you would think I would understand spreadsheets and numbers really well because I’m a CPA, and you’d think that I truly know the soul and the mindset because I’m a Shamanic Energy Practitioner, and yet I hadn’t been able to tackle my habits of being a natural spender.

I’ve made a lot of money, I’ve lost a lot of money, and I’ve spent a lot of money and finally I thought: My life has shifted, I’m a single mom now, I need help, I need someone that isn’t family, and I need somebody neutral.

And I also needed somebody that could bring it together: That understood finances and the nitty gritty of numbers and spreadsheets, but also understood mindset.

And that’s when I found Tess.

Tess really brought those two together for me in such a graceful, elegant, easy way. She was amazing at holding me accountable and her budgeting approach I think blows all the financial tools out of the water. Her ability to take the envelope method and bring it into modern times has changed my life.

Our talks were good - we got into emotional stuff around money and dating, shifting the mindset of spending, and figuring out how do I get to the point where I’m investing and saving and feeling really good about retirement again.

With Tess, I’ve seen my spending decrease about 25%. My investments have skyrocketed. My net worth went up about $10,000 in just the short amount of time we’ve worked together.

And again… I’m sleeping. And I really have to thank Tess the non-judgement, holding space for the work to happen but also having the really concrete financial tools and intelligence to make this happen. To explain everything to me so that my CPA mind could hear it and the emotional brain could hear it. I think she was worth every single dollar I spent.

Meredith, Florida

“As a therapist, I can’t help but think after each session with Tess, ‘maybe this is how people feel when they first start therapy?’ I have a plan in place and am no longer alone with a problem.”

  • After a decade of schooling, earning multiple degrees, and living on meager graduate school stipends in my 20s, I was ready to establish my practice and finally make that $100k+ income they’re always saying will make the sacrifice “worth it”. They forget the warning label though. Working in private practice means big money, but also big money responsibilities.

A year in to finally earning an income and living it up a little, I realized there was so much I needed help with when it came to the financial stuff, not just in my business (e.g., establishing an LLC, saving for taxes, paying myself), but also with my personal finances (i.e., living off a fluctuating income, getting those student loans and credit cards paid down, and saving for retirement).

I don’t mind spreadsheets, and I love a numbers challenge, but I could not have gotten organized if it wasn’t for Tess and her meticulous attention to detail, excel skills, and just the way her brain works to think through all the money things that I can’t keep straight.

With Tess’s help, we’ve got my business set up separately from my personal finances. Each has its own system, and things are finally organized in a way I can understand and most importantly maintain moving forward. I’m saving for taxes, have a plan for the summer months when business gets slow, and feel like everything is now manageable rather than overwhelming. Thanks to Tess, for the first time, I’m actually enjoying looking at my finances and financial goals for the future!

My Goal + Results:

I have been called many things by my clients, but the most used would be…

Life Saver | Financial Angel | Spreadsheet Wizard

It’s not uncommon for my clients to work with me year after year. Not because we’re unable to achieve their financial goals (we are) but because they see that having me in their back-pocket (AKA access to “email-me-anytime” coaching) is indispensable.

They email me the financial pickle they’ve found themselves in (big bonus check, car emergency, new equity options, job loss, etc.) and I respond with an optimized game-plan that always involves a little (or big) financial treat for them. (Spoiler: I don’t think it’s necessary to optimize every last dollar.)

  • I helped Ashley get off of the credit card train that so many high earners turn to for funding their lifestyle. She turned around to pay off over $20k in credit card debt and finally own her car outright - saving her nearly $10,000 in interest charges, alone. After 12 months of working together, Ashley’s net worth increased by $60,000 (that’s $5k a month!) and she began her investing journey, giving her the opportunity for long-term future earnings of $35k.

  • I introduced Jesse to my budgeting method to manage what she felt at the time was a total financial mess. While working together, she got her spending under control and was able to get a promotion and big pay raise at work, all while attending night classes for her bachelor’s degree AND while supporting her brother and his two sons. Since working together, Jesse has gone on to invest in her first rental property, providing an even higher bump to her income and net worth, and is saving for her next investment property!

Who Is Tess?

I am a financial problem solver, and I will be your secret weapon to getting out of debt, supercharging your savings, spending more intentionally and ultimately realizing you can build exponential wealth and actually retire someday.

I’ve been a money coach since 2015 and have helped hundreds of clients throughout the years. Along with money coaching clients, I’ve also mentored over 50 fellow money coaches to build their financial coaching frameworks, grow their businesses and get real results for their clients.

My degree and training prior to money coaching is in actuarial science, finance and insurance. An actuary by trade, financial mathematics and analysis are not only things that come quite naturally to me, but I also find great joy in navigating through a challenging personal finance problem and helping my clients finally catch a breath after months or years of feeling disconnected and, at times, totally underwater with their money.

I particularly thrive in working with individuals and couples earning $100,000 or more, who have more complex benefits packages or run their own businesses.

Even high earners can find themselves in financial predicaments, and it can be even more challenging to ask for help because of the shame they may feel when they “make more than enough to be in debt or living paycheck to paycheck”.

My approach to financial management and cash flow optimization focuses on implementing the least strict budget for your personal situation to help you reach your goal without “total lifestyle annihilation”.

At times, and for very individualized situations, I will suggest an approach that is generally seen as counterintuitive to financial optimization, but makes complete logical sense from a psychological perspective.

Managing your finances isn’t just about saving the most money, but also changing behaviors to build wealthier financial habits helping you create more wealth and financial freedom in your future.
