A Quick Recap from this episode

There’s no doubt that you deserve to get paid as a money coach, and it really is simple to start making money when you’ve created a program designed with your clients in mind. You can make tons of money while also helping people overcome some of their biggest financial struggles - but you have to get that first client, so let’s talk about the steps to making that happen.

Whether you’re already working with clients or not, you need to recognize that you’ve always been working with yourself. You are your very first client, and you want to make sure that you show up as one. You also want to make sure that you’re walking your talk in terms of what you’re going to have your clients do. This means investing in your own development just as you’d ask your clients to do. You have to practice what you preach.

With that in mind, the very first thing to do is look at your own story and your own transformation. If you’ve created a good relationship with your money, then you’ve probably followed a step-by-step process without even realizing it, so look at those things you did right and build your methodology around that.

Next, identify some people in your network that you really want to work with. Look for people who are your ideal client and ask them if you can job on a quick call to just get to know them and their pain points. Ask them what they would find extremely valuable if you were to offer a program at a certain price point. See what they think would be valuable within that price point so that you can identify what your ideal clients are looking for and expecting.

Step 3 in this process would be to sit down and develop out your actual program. Develop out your signature methodology in terms of the transformation you want to provide to your clients. Look at those interviews that you just conducted and your own transformation and put together a step-by-step process that your clients can follow to get that transformation. Being able to explain that you have a proven process that works is the magical piece to getting your first client because they can envision that value that you’ve created.

Make note of those key milestones throughout the transformation and then make sure that you name your process and take ownership of it. Call it whatever you want but help you client envision what it is that they get from working with you and the transformation that they’re going to get by the end of your program.

Then it’s time to talk about your offer ALL THE TIME. Some people make the mistake of developing something and then never talking about it because it feels weird, but in reality, you’re a business, and you have to sell your offer. Talk about your program all the time. Talking about it is how people find out about it and build trust in you. Once you have the process and know how to talk about it and market it, people will start inquiring.

You’ll probably get your first paying client before you even finish this 4 step process, but it’s so important to make sure that you check off each of these steps so that you can build a sustainable program that’s providing value to your ideal clients. The process of getting paid clients is simple - don’t complicate it by getting in your own way!
